UPDATE:
Disney has confirmed that the official Tomorrowland home video announcement will be made this Friday!

In the meantime, thanks to the British Board of Film Classification, we now have a more complete list of bonus features (and run-times) for the Tomorrowland Blu-ray. (Confirming one of our previously reported rumors.)

ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS:

Thanks to several international listings, we have our first look at the special features on the upcoming Tomorrowland Blu-Ray release.

From the Australian website JB Hi-Fi:

Special Features:
Remembering The Future: A Personal Journey Through Tomorrowland With Brad Bird
Casting Tomorrowland
A Great Big Beautiful Scoring Session
Animated Short: The Origins Of Plus Ultra
Brad Bird Production Diaries
Blast From The Past Commercial
Deleted Scenes
Just what might be shown in those "deleted scenes" listed above? The Japanese Amazon listing gives us some idea:

<Bonus content> [Blu-ray]
● hope for the future
● charming cast
● music of "Tomorrowland"
● Animation: plus ultra of origin
● supervision production diary - shoot first day -NASA
● CM: SF goods the please
● unpublished scene (with introduction of the film maker)
- jokes at the Eiffel Tower
- Casey and volcanic
- World destruction of Sun
Clearly the actual titles of these features are somewhat lost in translation, but the French Amazon listing provides an alternate translation:

Remember the Future: A personal journey "In Pursuit of Tomorrow" with Brad Bird
Casting
The recording of music?
Short film: "The origins of the ultimate"
Logbook of Brad Bird: The first day, NASA
advertising for "The bazaar of the past"
Deleted scenes with director introduction:
- "Jokes of the Eiffel Tower"
- "Casey against Volcano"
- "The living room of the Apocalypse?"

Sounds a little light to you? Especially based on the amount of deleted scenes shown in the film's advertising:

Don't worry. An official press release has yet to be provided by Disney, and from what we've heard, these early lists are far from complete. Rumors are already swirling about an alternate cut of the film, that will be presented in its entirety on the Blu-ray. (Perhaps restoring the film to its pre-reshoot state?)

Additionally, rumors have been circulating since the release of the Blast From The Past store commercial that another piece of in-universe viral content was filmed with Hugh Laurie as his character David Nix in a 1960's, Mr.-Wizard-style science show. We hope to see both of these rumored features on the Blu-ray, however nothing official has been confirmed.

According to staff at Disney Movies Anywhere, Tomorrowland will be released on Blu-ray and Digital on October 13th in the US. Previously reported international release dates include September 30th in Australia and New Zealand, October 5th in the UK, October 6th in France, and October 7th in Japan.

  1. Any word on which, if any, will be on the regular DVD release?

    1. If the international listings are any indication, the DVD will be pretty bare-bones. (The Japanese listing showed just one of the featurettes.)

  2. Disney should be kind and include all the extras on blu ray, not to leave the extras out for Disney movies everywhere, because we who collect movies, pay for them instead of downloading them, we want the whole package, otherwise we end up just watching them from the YouTube. God I hope Disney changes this. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/KingPatel/news/?a=124276

  3. Not happy ... I'm not finding any info on the net as to why the Carousel of Progress scene is not in the Deleted Scenes section of any video release. Whether it's DVD or Blu Ray. Sure would be nice if I can find some answers on this.
